Hebereke, in it's original form, is a Platforming Metroidvania on the NES by Sunsoft. Hebe, this chubby guy in the blue hat, is thrown into a mysterious and surreal world, meets O-chan, Suzezaemon, and Jennifer and fight aliens!
it'll make a bit more sense when you play it...

Hebereke was first re-released alongside Journey to Silius in "Memorial Series Sunsoft Vol.5" (2002), which was later made available on the PlayStation Network in 2010. a mobile version released in 2003 by Space Out, and of course Virtual Console on Wii, Wii U, and 3DS

Ufouria: The Saga is the localization of Hebereke, instead of Hebe, it features Bop Louie! apparently the original characters and premise were considered too strange for western audiences, because everything else coming out for the NES was very normal and grounded in reality.
the changes to this version that came out in Europe are mainly visual,
but also completely overwrites the original story.
other than a virtual console release on Wii,
every other re-release uses the original sprites.

Hebereke as a series isn't a very consistent one, with each game being completely different from the last
